What is a Milestone and what is it used for?

Milestone is a concept of how to start a product order charge without knowing exactly when it's supposed to happen. The Milestone has two values:

Planned date

Milestone date

To use the Milestone concept you create an order and set a start date for the order. That will then be your order start date. It will be used as the start of your contract term. Meaning if your term is 12 months. The order will end and be renewed 12 months after the order start date.

Your order will also have a product charge, and it's here the Milestone will be used. The charge will be set to start on Milestone. Before you activate your order you will create a Milestone and a planned date for your Milestone.

This means that there will be nothing to invoice before the Milestone has happened. Once your event has been reached, you set the Milestone date and the remaining value of the price period will be eligible for invoicing.

If you do not set the milestone, the order will not be invoiced. If you change the planned date to get reporting right, Younium will be updated accordingly.
